With raspberries growing on your deck.
Right on our deck, a raspberry bramble has been growing all season long.
Though I am devoted to my cosmos, zinnias and sunflowers as the epitome of what Summer can bring, I have to confess that the raspberry holds a power over me that is most poignant: memories of picking raspberries in my old twenties on Martha’s Vineyard.
Without fail I am transported back into those farm’s brambles every time I see these sweet gems.
Anyone who follows a calendar can see that summer is about to bid adieu to make room for autumn and her big rumpus. And though I love both seasons, transitions are challenging––you’re not always ready to make the change, are you?
I’ll be eating raspberries ’til the end.
